  Mood-O-Meter: Sad. Ew.

I think I finally figured it out. There has been the ultra-nasty odor coming from "down there" for a little while. It started about 3 weeks after labiaplasty---that was about 1 week after I stopped using Bacitracin and 1 week after my antibiotics supply ran out. It was also 1 week before I stopped wearing the control top panties to compress the mons. I've been seeing weird colored discharge (which I first thought was coming from the vagina, and still may be), but when I looked at the pads it appeared to be in the wrong area. Well, I turned on a lot of lights and looked again and what I saw was pretty nasty. I'm betting that this is my first yeast infection. Hooray.
Think about it: the environment was perfect. No antibiotics. Warm, dark, and moist. Cloistered area under pantyhose. Little ventilation. Sloughing all over the place---biohazard material just piling up. I've been going to the restroom a lot because of the amount of stuff I've been drinking. I could have sworn I felt another UTI taking hold but I guess all the cranberry juice I've been drinking kept it from going any farther. Oh, and I douched recently.
Everyone knows (or should know) that these are bad things, though I didn't have much of a choice. Altogether my guess is that is what has been causing it and now the smells are changing from what I thought was stale Surgilube to something a bit more gross. I think I saw some of that cottage cheese stuff down there too. Yuck! I'm just hoping I'll hold out until my next doctor's appointment which is only a few days away.

  Mood-O-Meter: Blech. Eep.

My doctor greeted me but her smile was not much comfort. Whatever has been brewing downstairs is pretty nasty and I'm glad I got a space on her time schedule to get checked out. (In retrospect it probably would have been a good idea to have made an appointment before, but problems haven't really surfaced except in the last couple weeks or so.)
It was the usual routine: disrobe, onto the table, into the stirrups, breathe. What was unusual was her serious gaze. "Yup, you have quite a bit of yeast." Really, now. "You have something else going on too that I don't like." Oh joy. "Looks like you got the double-whammy!" Great. Uh, can I get fries with that?
Then there was a lot of prodding, swabbing, and pinching---I'm not going to go into the amount of discomfort that caused. She did find a bountiful presence of all sorts of yucky stuff. Nothing makes your skin crawl like when your doctor utters the words "pus" and "abscesses". I even showed her some digital photos I had taken over these past few days and she also noted how odd things looked. But, she says she's hopeful that things will clear up with a little Cipro and some Terazol.
Other than the icky problems she said things look great. At least that is a little good news.

  Mood-O-Meter: Good.

There's nothing like getting your hair done and shopping with your girlfriends. I almost find it strange that these girls have sort of accepted me into their group---at least their constant inclusion of me in their activities seems to be a positive sign. I guess only time will tell if this is all real.
Miki had made reservations for a couple of us to have our hair done at one of her favorite places in The City. So we all carpooled together except for one person who came in by subway. It was a lazy morning of being pampered, styled, and talking. Miki and Mary got us some breakfast to nibble on while Charlene and I were being taken care of by the capable hands of our stylists. Wow, I have to say this is going to take a bit of practice to reproduce all the curls and waves.
