I was in the cafeteria with some colleagues (about 5 of them) at work this
week when for some reason
we wandered onto the topic of shavers. Apparently the women at the table
didn't know how electric shavers work---I guess they'd only used blades.
So the other guys (including myself) were talking about how these things
actually cut hair and how they compare to straight razors. The funny thing
here is that I have always used electric shavers until about mid of
last year when I started using razors to shave my legs. So I sort of gained
my knowledge of shaving with razors a little late in life...
Anyhoo...it was a lively conversation amongst us all. The problem was that I
had stopped using my electric razor back last November (2001) because
electrolysis has progressed to the point where I don't shave my face anymore.
Really, I was having a bit of a hard time remember what it was like to shave
with an electric. Granted, it has only been about 5 months, but you'll have
to keep in mind that 1 week feels like a lifetime to me.
It amazed me that after having used an electric probably for about 13 or 14
years using and cleaning my old electric razors that I've become so detached
from shaving that way. Well, I never really liked shaving so maybe it's not
something I bother to remember...
